What should I do if a major storm is approaching?
Blue Ribbon Pools Storm Service Guidelines

• Our priority is the safety of our client, their guests, and our employees - we will not compromise safety in any circumstance.

• Service may be suspended due to the proximity of high winds, lightning or other threatening conditions.

• The client is responsible for anyone using their pool, spa, or pool deck during a storm. We use the beach patrol and lifeguards as indicators of hazardous conditions - when they clear the beach, you must clear the pool deck.

• If you choose to put pool furniture or other items in the pool, you are responsible for removing them.

• If you lower the water level before or after a storm, be very careful NOT TO DRAIN THE POOL. The high water conditional surrounding a storm can cause your pool to POP – come out of the ground – and the repair cost is very high.

• We will make every effort to maintain DOH - mandated water conditions during a storm. We make our regular visits if possible to adjust water chemistry and maintain water safety and clarity.

• When conditions permit, we will resume service on our regular schedule. We cannot guarantee that your pool will be clear of storm debris on your regular service day. We will make every effort to visit each property within three days of a storm to begin cleanup (if there is no loss of electrical service).

• In the event of a storm that causes the loss of electrical service at your property we will attempt to use chemicals to maintain sanitary water in your pool or spa. Of course, we cannot predict when your pool / spa will be ready for use.

20 Years of Blue Ribbon Pools

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Tuesday, July 19, 2016) – Blue Ribbon Pools is celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer under the ownership of team leader and “Pool Prophet”, Maurice Bushroe.

As the company continues to grow new hires have been made. Leeann Monaghan will be rejoining Blue Ribbon Pools as Office Manager beginning August 1, 2016. In this role she will work side by side with Michelle Gunn, Customer Service Manager, Jeremiah Monaghan, Project Manager and Cindy Gardner, Accounting Supervisor.

Ms. Monaghan previously served Blue Ribbon as Office Assistant from 2007 to 2010.  She has recently worked with TD Bank in New Smyrna Beach. Focusing on operations and process management, she will be based at Blue Ribbon’s main office in South Daytona.

Another successful "Dayton 2 Daytona" Trip has just wrapped up! This tradition has been carried on for over 30 years. College Juniors and Seniors out of Dayton, Ohio travel to Daytona Beach for 5 days of both party and relaxation. This year our guests were treated to a performance by the band SmashMouth and stayed at the beautiful Ocean Breeze Club Hotel, which Blue Ribbon Pools services. We hope our guests enjoyed their stay and look forward to next year's group!

Lack of water safety education can following into adulthood. It is estimated that 10 people die every DAY from drowning, and only about 20% of them are under the age of 14. Legislative Days 2016

Maurice Bushroe, our team leader and our “Pool Prophet” was in Tallahassee this past week for Legislative Days on behalf of The Florida Swimming Pool Association. All the volunteers dressed in blue met with multiple legislators including Representative Fred Costello from District 25. Maurice was honored to support the important pool industry issues at our state capital.

Hello all - it's Maurice Bushroe and I'm in Tallahassee attending the Legislative Days meetings with the State House of Representatives and State Senate of Florida.

There are SO many changes coming regarding both commercial and residential pools - many of them related to electrical issues.  One would require a building permit to replace a residential pool pump motor - a measure which would more than DOUBLE the cost of replacing your motor - and increase the installation time from a day or so to an average of TWO WEEKS!

Imagine what your pool would look like after two weeks of waiting for a new motor!

Maurice Bushroe, Blue Ribbon Pool Care, LLC located in Daytona Beach as Secretary & Treasurer, Larry Drumb, Cool Pools by Larry located in DeLand as a Member at Large and Bryant Ewing, HornerXpress located in Ormond Beach as a Member at Large.

The chapter meets monthly for all members and guests on the second Tuesday of each month.

The Florida Swimming Pool Association is a trade association for the pool and spa industry in Florida. There are approximately 600 member businesses in 16 Chapters across the state.
